Arthur Stanley Eddington and Frank Dyson are famous for a series of photographic plates they collated documenting the solar eclipse of 1919. Two out of the sixteen plates they recorded illustrated displace stars in the Hyades cluster, thus proving Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
Yet due to conflicting results and limitations imposed by war, there was an element of doubt regarding the results they published. It was not until 1922 that this doubt was laid to rest when scientists were able to confirm gravitational lensing in Wallah, Western Australia.
This work comprises of darkroom prints of images from the expeditions and the people involved. Using various time-based techniques, the work seeks to investigate duration and perception.
